A Silent Song – Hajime Karou

I have an interesting one this time around. It’s really well done but apparently obscure. It’s called “A Silent Song”  – 「聞こえない歌」.

Edit: found the original work, it’s from a hentai collection called “Squash” by Hajime Karou.

This is seriously another one of my favorite mermaid tf comics. I just think the whole setup is so beautiful, and the ending dialog just hits me in the feels.

By the way, this is my first time typesetting so please go easy on me thank you ❤

The Mermaid Dress – Rei Kazamatsuri

Hi guys, I’m back. I’m also sorry for taking so long on this one. I had the intention of finishing it before uni started again but that didn’t end up happening, and I got swamped. Things are a little bit back in order now, so hopefully I can find more time to do this stuff again.

Also, this one was just really hard to do in general. It’s long and Rei Kazamatsuri loves to use expressions that translate horribly into English. A lot of the onomatopoeia simply doesn’t exist in English and I have to rewrite a lot of stuff to make any sense at all. I’m unfortunately still inexperienced when it comes to translation, so hopefully I’ll get faster at this in the future.

This one is another one of my favorite stories from 人魚変身の館, but since I’m more into forced permanent tf I never really liked the ending. However, this is definitely one of my favorite transformations of all time.

“Hm….this dress really fits the image…”, Ayako Sudou whispered as she stared into a screen in her school’s computer room.

“Huh? What’s this? Looking at auctions again? You never learn your lesson, do you?”, said Tatsuo Yanagawa, as he peeked in from the neighboring seat.

“Hey! Look at your own screen!”, said Ayako with an irritated tone, as she frantically attempted to hide the screen with her hands.

“What’s the big deal?”, said Tatsuo as he got up from his seat, “By the way, Sudou, are you done finding a dress to wear for the cultural festival’s play yet?”

“Uh…kinda…I guess”, said Ayako, trying to brush off the question.

However, Tatsuo didn’t press any further.

“Ok, I’m gonna go check the guidebook with the club president, then”, he says as he exited the computer room with a printout in his hand.

“Phew…”

Ayako made sure that Tetsuo was out of her line of sight.

She let out a deep sigh and stared into the computer screen.

“Alright, break time”, said a voice from under the poster that read, “‘o’ days left until the school festival”.

“Phew…”

“Whew…”

Voices of relief began to pop up as the tension spreading over the members of the theater club was broken.

Of course, Ayako and Tetsuo were part of this crowd.

Soon it would be the final day before the college’s cultural festival.

It was a tradition for the theater club to perform their own original play, and this year it was going to be “The Little Mermaid”.

It had absolutely no relation to the other famous story of the same title (Which would actually be impossible to do), but it had turned out to be an incredibly “dense” production that their senpais in charge of the script and direction poured their hearts and souls into.

“Hey, Sudou-chan, you sure it’s okay that we left you in charge of the dress?”, asked the third-year in charge of overseeing script and production, Satomi Akazawa.

“Oh..yea. I found a good one, I think.”, replied Ayako.

“Ok. When it comes in let me take a look at it.”, said Satomi as she turned her back to Ayako.

Ayako was tasked with finding a dress that fit the budget of the play and the image of the Mermaid Princess while playing the lead role as well.

Upon returning home from school, Ayako started up her computer and quickly jumped to the auction site. She began to look over the details of the dress she had found.

“Hm…the auction ends tomorrow huh. It’s well within the budget and still has no one bidding on it…”

Ayako bid on the dress, thinking that its deep blue colors conjured up thoughts of the ocean, and that it really fit the image of the Mermaid Princess.

The next day…

“Alright! I won the auction!”, yelled Ayako with vigour as she reflexively did a fist pump.

She then proceeded to open her e-mail, which contained the confirmation of purchase and payment from the seller.

2 days later…

*ding dong*

The deliveryman rang the doorbell, and the dress had finally arrived.

“Wow…”

The dress made a light sliding sound as Ayako took it out from the box and spread it out over her lap.

“What an interesting texture…what kind of material is this?”

Having experience from her part-time job in high school, Ayako could normally guess what kind of material clothing was made of.

However, no matter how much she ran her hands over the dress, she couldn’t pull a match from the database in her head that fit the qualities of the cloth.

“Hm…it almost feels like tanned leather, but it’s cloth…”

Ayako lifted the dress up to eye level and fixed her gaze onto the material.

*sparkle*

The atmosphere of the stitching caused thoughts of fish scales to arise in Ayako’s mind.

She spread the dress over the bed beside her.

“Alright, guess I should try it on…”

Ayako cheerfully began slip out of her clothes.

Ayako’s well proportioned half-naked body filled the room, with only her bra and panties hugging her bare skin.

“Hm…is the size ok?”

Ayako began to check the measurements on the dress.

“Huh?”

She noticed that there was a folded paper placed inside the box the dress had come from.

“A message?”, thought Ayako as she unfolded the paper.

It read:

“When putting on this dress, we recommend it be worn without undergarments. We guarantee that you will be blessed with ecstasy you have never experienced before.”

“Hm…so you gotta wear this thing naked, huh?”

In agreement with what was written on the letter, Ayako began to slip out of her panties.

“Alright…”

Ayako, who was now completely naked, sat down on the bed and began to slowly slide the dress up her legs.

Upon finishing, the dress covered her body as if it were wrapped around her, shining a light of captivating color.

“Woah…this is…such a weird feeling…”

*squish*

Ayako’s ears gradually blushed as she began to take in the sensations of the dress that stuck to her body like a leotard.

She put the camisole straps over her shoulders and zipped up the opening on the back side.

She then faced towards the mirror.

“Wow…amazing…”

The upper half stretching from her chest to her thighs gave off a light, pale color, and the bottom half from her thighs down was dyed in a deep marine blue. It expressed a charming outline of her body, and the cloth spreading from her thighs sparkled like the scales of a mermaid tail.

“Wow…”

Ayako completely took to heart the sexy image her body radiated.

“Hm…I see…but will this look good on stage? I guess if I just fixed this part up a little bit it should be alright”, said Ayako as she studied the dress.

Suddenly, her body began to feel itchy.

“H-huh?”

Trying to avoid using her nails, Ayako began to scratch the itching parts of her body with her elbow.

However, the itching began to gradually spread all over her body.

“Oh no…”

She decided that the cause must have been the chemicals used on the dress that stuck to her skin, and hurriedly fumbled around for the zipper on the back.

“W-what the…”

No matter how much she felt around for it, the zipper that she had just used moments ago was nowhere to be found.

“How…why…?”

Growing impatient, Ayako faced her back towards the mirror.

“Eh?”

*Thud*

“Ahhh!”

Ayako lost her balance and toppled over towards the floor.

“Agh…what the hell was that!”

Ayako tried to stand up as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

However, no matter how much tried, she simply couldn’t gather enough strength in her legs to get up.

“Eh? Why can’t I…?”

She was stuck in a crawling position on the ground as she desperately tried to use her hands to prop herself up.

*creak*

*creak* *creak*

The dress began to tightly wrap itself around Ayako’s body.

“Ungh…that hurts…”

In an attempt to escape the pain of the dress tightening around her body, Ayako raised her hands towards her chest in an attempt to tear it off.

However, in that moment, she felt a stinging pain as if she was trying to tear off her own skin.

“Ah!! What the hell is going on?!”, she screamed as she released her hands from her chest.

*creak* *creak* *creak*

The dress tightening around her skin began to further strengthen its grip.

The pressure began to crush Ayako’s legs.

“Gaaaaaah!!”, Ayako screamed at the intense stress that felt as if it could smash her two legs into one.

Inside the dress, Ayako’s legs were slowly being transformed into one long pole of flesh, and the skirt began began to gradually transform in a giant fish tail.

After greatly changing Ayako’s lower half, the dress slowly wriggled, and moved as if something was slowly gushing out of it.

“Hah…hah…w-what’s happening to me…?”, Ayako said with heavy breathing as the never ending agony caused by the dress gradually lifted, and she managed to slip out of its grasp.

“Huh?”

Ayako was surprised by the fact that she was able to easily remove herself from the dress that had been causing her suffering up until now.

However…

With a banging sound, Ayako’s lower half bent in a way that she had never felt once in her entire life.

“Eh?”, She said with a surprised tone as she looked herself over.

“No way!!”

Her eyes fixed to the area under her eyes that used to be her legs, but now reminded her of a fish’s tail.

“No way…is this…?”

She stared shocked at the scales on her tail that dubiously reflected the lamplight.

She lifted herself up onto the bed. The mirror that had once reflected the image of herself wearing the dress now reflected her as a mermaid.

“I..I turned into a mermaid…that means…”

Ayako dumbfoundedly fiddled with her hair that at some point had become a light green color, when suddenly the sound of knocking came from her door.

“Hey, Sudou, you in there?”, rang Tatsuo’s voice from the other side.

“Y…Yanagawa-kun?”, Ayako replied with a startled tone as she reflexively looked at the clock.

“Ah…”

In the time it took for Ayako’s transformation to complete, a significant amount of time had passed. The needle of the clock now pointed at 10:00 AM, the next day.

“Oh my god…”

Ayako was absolutely overcome with surprise.

“Hey, still sleepin’ in there? If you don’t come soon we can’t start rehearsal you know!”

She gradually grew more and more irritated at the sound of Tatsuo’s voice.

“Hey…maybe she’s just not home yet”, said Kyouko Saeki, Tatsuo’s kouhai who happened to be with him as well.

“Huh, Saeki-chan’s here too?”, Ayako whispered in surprise at the fact that they came together.

“You think so? The lamp seems to be on, though…”, replied Tetsuo as he began to creak open the door.

“Oh no!!”

Ayako immediately regretted that she had not locked the door to begin with.

“What do I do…If they see my body like this…”, she said as she looked town at her scale-covered lower half.

“Ok…I gotta at least try moving…”, she said as she looked towards the closet.

She hopped off the bed and began to drag herself towards it in attempt to hide, her tail making a sliding sound along the way.

“Huh? The door’s unlocked…alright Saeki, you go in and check on her for me”

“What? Me?”

“Yes, dummy. I’m a guy, so if I were to barge into a girl’s room like that I could go to jail, you know…”

“B-b-but, what if I go in there and Sudou senpai’s neck is hanging from a rope…”

“Hey, don’t go killing off Sudou like that!! Just go check already.”

“So that’s what they think of me, huh?”, thought Ayako as she listened to Tatsuo and Kyouko’s jabbering, mixed feelings arising within her.

“N-nevermind that, I gotta hide”, thought Ayako as she wiggled her now fish-like lower body and moved towards the closet.

However, in that moment, her tail hit the floor twice, each time with a loud banging sound.

“Oh no”, thought Ayako.

At that moment…

“”S-senpai…what was that weird sound…”, asked Kyouko.

“Just get in there already!!”, yelled Tatsuo back.

“Kyaaaa!”, screamed Kyouko as she barged into Ayako’s room.

“No…!”, Ayako thought in response to this sudden development as she opened the sliding door to her closet.

However…

“Wha-”

The closet was already tightly packed. There was no space for Ayako.

“Oh god…”, said Ayako, dumbfounded.

“S-senpai, are you there?”, asked Kyouko timidly as she slowly creeped in.

“Eh?”

When she turned her head, she and Ayako’s eyes met.

“Eh?”

The room fell dead silent.

“What is…this…?”

Shining in Kyouko’s eyes was a strange creature crawling around on the floor.

Then, she caught a glimpse of its sparkling tail that reflected the lamplight.

“Kyaaaaa!”, Kyouko screamed as she desperately rushed out of the room.

“W-What happened?!”

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Monster!! There’s a monster in the room!!”

As a half-crazed Kyouko frantically yelled as she flew out of the room, loud footsteps echoing behind her.

“W-what did you just say? It’s pretty rude to call a mermaid a monster you know.”, replied Ayako, clearly offended by Kyouko’s word choice.

The door opened once again.

“Hey, Sudou, you in there?”

This time it was Tatsuo who cautiously entered Ayako’s room, where he then caught sight of her in a crawling position on the floor.

“Wha-”

He unconsciously backed up a few steps.

“Jesus christ, I’d really like it if you guys could refrain from calling me a monster again”, said Ayako, who had finally found the resolve to prop herself up and look back at him.

“I-is that you…Sudou?”

“Yep, it’s me”

“So…what the hell are you doing?”, asked Tatsuo as he pointed at her with his trembling hand.

“Isn’t it obvious? I turned into a mermaid”, replied Ayako as she wrapped the towel on the floor around her body.

“Wait…so does that mean…you’re a real mermaid?”, squeaked out Tatsuo as he continued to  point at Ayako’s scale-covered lower body.

“Why not touch it and find out?”, asked Ayako as she thrust her tail towards Tatsuo, making a squishing sound as it hit the ground.

“Woah…”

At first Tatsuo reeled at the sight, but then gradually ran his hand along from the beginning of Ayako’s tail all the way down to her fin.

“Yea…this thing is definitely not fake…”, mumbled Tatsuo as he continued to run his hand along her tail.

“Hey, you understand now, right?”, said Ayako in an embarrassed tone.

“So, how did you turn into a mermaid. You’re not gonna say something like ‘I’ve always been a mermaid’, are you?”, inquired Tatsuo.

“Jeez, I wish that were the case…”, Ayako said as she sighed deeply, “Seems like this thing had something to do with it”, she said as she showed the dress’ instruction manual to Tatsuo and began to explain everything.

“Are you serious?”

Ayako nodded..

“So that means…”

Tatsuo stared back at Ayako in astonishment and began to closely study the instruction manual again.

“Let me ask them…”, he said as he pulled out his phone and dialed the number on the manual.

After some time…

“Hahaha, okay, thank you!”, said Tatsuo as he hung up the phone with a look of disbelief.

“What did they say?”, asked Ayako as she drew up closer to him.

“Hm…”, mumbled Tatsuo as he nodded and looked carefully down at Ayako’s mermaid body.

“W-what?”, stuttered Ayako, slightly embarrassed by Tatsuo’s intense gaze.

“That dress you bought is uh…man, how do I say this…it turns humans who wear it into mermaids”, Tatsuo quickly explained.

“…and?”, asked Ayako after Tatsuo’s lacking explanation hung in the air for some time.

“…and what?”, asked Tatsuo, seemingly unable to grasp what Ayako was trying to say.

“Will I ever be able to change back to normal from this body?”, she asked again, trying to hit on the main point.

“Oh…yea you’ll turn back to normal some time this evening.”, replied Tatsuo.

“Haaaaa…”, Sighed Ayako in relief at Tatsuo’s words, “Huh, is that it? I really thought I was going to be like this forever for a second there”, she said with a relieved expression.

“This is so cool!”, announced a new voice through the room.

“Huh?”, they both said as they looked towards the direction it came from.

There stood Satomi, proud with her hands on her hips in a proud stance as light brightly shined off of her glasses.

“A-Akazawa senpai?”, they both asked, dumbfounded.

“Saeki barged into my place spouting off nonsense so I came here to see for myself, and what’s this? A dress that turns people into mermaids, you say? Why were you hiding something so awesome from me!!”, She babbled as she drew closer to the two.

“No uh…you’re not shocked by this?”, asked Tatsuo timidly as he began to feel the weight of Satomi’s intensity.

“Heh”, chuckled Satomi, “I had a senpai who turned from a boy into a girl, it’s not all that much of a shock to see a human turned into a mermaid”, she said as she began to intensely study Ayako’s body.

“Hey, could you try and move your tail for me?”

“Hm…”

“So…you can do that?”

“What about this?”

After asking all kinds of questions and having Ayako test her body in many ways, Satomi stood up once again.

“Nice, Sudou! This will absolutely perfect our play! Let’s shoot for the golden bear!!”, yelled Satomi with flames blazing in the background.

“Alright, we’re having rehearsal this afternoon so be there, ok!”, said Satomi as she walked out of the room.

“What the hell was that?”, they both thought as they watched her leave.

And so, the culture festival came and went.

The theater club’s exhibit, “The Little Mermaid” was a smashing success.

The audience couldn’t take their eyes off Ayako’s stunning mermaid appearance.

Ayako’s dress became property of the theatre club, and all the underclassmen were allowed to turn into beautiful mermaids one by one.

The sound of crashing waved rang through the air.

“Hey, Tatsuo!!”, Ayako yelled as she waved her hands at the water’s edge.

“Where the hell were you!! I was looking everywhere!”, Tatsuo yelled in a disgruntled voice as he ran along the sandy shore.

“Well, uh…”

Ayako smiled and thrust her tail into the air.

“Man, I can’t believe you bought another dress. When you let the other one go last year I assumed you had lost all interest in mermaids”, said Tatsuo as he stared at Ayako’s mermaid body.

“Oh, I actually really liked that dress, but Akazawa senpai said that it was now club property and took it. I managed to get this one when I saw another auction for it”, explained Ayako.

“Well, that’s cool. So how was the ocean?”, asked Tatsuo.

Ayako reminisced on her leisurely walk through the ocean as a mermaid.

“It was really cool. Here, I brought back a present.”, Ayako said as she pulled out a metal object with a pebble-like shape.

“Man, it sucks you’re the only one who can have fun with this…”, Tatsuo said as he stared at the metal object.

“Hey, why not wear the dress then? The ocean is really beautiful”, replied Ayako.

“Men can’t wear the mermaid dress, you dummy”, said Tatsuo as he shot down Ayako’s plan entirely.

“Yep…It sure would be great if there was a mermaid dress for men too…”, whispered Ayako as she clutched onto the used shell from the old Japanese military that she found at the bottom of the ocean.

At that time…

In a certain metropolitan area.

“Sir, it seems sales of the mermaid dress have gone up lately”

“Yes, it seems like word of mouth is spreading”

“Seems like the media has been catching a whiff of it lately as well”

“Well, I made that dress because I wanted show humans the current state of the ocean, and I would be grateful if they even took it to heart just a little bit. I guess they’ll realize soon enough.”, said one of the mermen as they gazed at the gargantuan city that spread before them.

The end.

Just a side note, but does anyone else find it weird that all the girls in the club wanted to be mermaids so bad when the transformation was a super painful experience? Anyways, thanks for reading, I’ll try to be more active.

Transformation by Mer – Comic Translation

Hey, I know I’ve been inactive for a while on here. I recently started doing another mermaid tf story translation, but it’s really long, so I figured I’d do this quick comic for now because it’s one of my favorites (although pee fetish isn’t my thing).

It’s by a guy named “mer” on pixv, called “Transformation”.

Mer’s profile: https://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=11181503

Link to comic: https://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=53076190

EDIT: The brilliant “Lasserine” from Deviantart kindly did the typesetting on the comic for me! She didn’t want me to link her profile here, but if you have the time make sure to check out her stuff!

Also, it’s come to my attention that the images don’t go to full size on wordpress for some reason, so here’s an imgur link: http://imgur.com/a/cQuzR

description:

I’ve always wanted to see a manga that depicts a girl who is shocked and confused after transforming like this!! I’d love it if other people wrote this stuff.

If I feel inclined I’ll write a continuation.

The Mermaid Bowl – Rei Kazamatsuri – English translation

This is an English translation I did of Rei Kazamatsuri’s “The Mermaid Bowl” 「人魚鉢」 from the Japanese mermaid transformation website “House of Mermaid Transformation” 「人魚化の館」.

Story Source (Japanese): (link)

Website Source (lots of great stories here if you can read Japanese): (link)

I usually don’t do much translation, let alone literature (It’s a huge pain in the ass to translate prose into natural sounding English and that’s probably why most people don’t bother with it), but I’ve been looking to get into it for a while. I also feel that there are lots of great untranslated Japanese works out there that I wanted to bring out to the English speaking audience, so hopefully I will be doing more of these when I get the time.

On a personal note, this is probably one of my favorite TF stories of all time. The thing that really gets me going about transformation is the psychological aspect, and how characters react to their changes. This story sets up great context from the get-go and paints a simple but effective picture of the two sister’s differing personalities. It’s enough that even though there isn’t too much aftermath in this story, you can easily imagine what the two girls would do, and make up your own story in your mind because of what the author has supplied in their writing.

Anyways, enough of my rambling, here’s the story.

________________________________________

On the way home from their school’s opening ceremony, a school uniform wearing Kozue began to talk to her twin sister Michie, walking beside her, thinking back on summer memories.

“Man, summer break sure went by fast…”

“Yea…but we’ll be doing entrance exams next year, so this is definitely gonna be our last summer of leisure”, replied Michie as she looked up at the sun shimmering with remnants of summer light.

“Ugh, you’re so serious Michie, how about at least trying to feel a little sentimental for once?”, pouted Kozue in response to her sister’s cold words.

“And what about you, Kozue? It’s not good to cling to moments than have already passed.. By the way, have you decided what classes you want to take? The deadline is this week you know”, advised Michie with a casual tone.

“Hmph”, responded Michie, clearly irritated by her sister’s words.

Just then, a wind of indescribable feeling blew between the two girls.

*chime*

A wind chime rang with a cool sound that resonated like the two girls had been waiting all their lives to hear it.

“Huh?”

As Michie and Kozue turned to the sound of the ringing chimes they heard, “Hey, you there! How would you like a mermaid bowl!”

“Huh?” “What?”

The sound of dragging tires resonated as a middle aged salesman, pulling a cart , put his hand towel on his head and approached the girls.

“Mermaid bowl?” they asked.

“Yep, we have all kinds! Big, small, medium sized ones too!” replied the salesperson.

The man, with grey hair peeking out from the towel on his head, pulled out a goldfish bowl with an old-style design from the cart.

“Wow”, “Woah”, said the two girls, absolutely mesmerized by the cool, splendid shape of the and aura of the glass, and the gaping hole that rested above it.

“So, how about it? I’ll give you a deal”, the man said in a sweet, soft voice.

“I-I think we’re okay”, said Michie..

“I’ll take one!”, exclaimed Kozue as she separated herself from her sister. “Come on, Kozue, don’t just stand there! Let’s go!”.

“Huh? Wait for me!” yelled Michie to her sister.

Upon reaching the salesman, Kozue stopped calling for her sister, and stood mesmerized by the bowl..

“You interested?” asked the salesman.

“Yea…how much is it?” asked Kozue, still staring at the bowl.

“Huh? Kozue, you’re gonna buy it?!” exclaimed Michie, watching her sister’s fascinated expression.

“Yea, is there something wrong with that? It’s my money and I can spend it how I want”, replied Kozue, swatting away her sister’s concern.

“Alright, one mermaid bowl, that’ll be 500 yen please. Thank you for your business.” The man said as he extended his hand out to Kozue.

*Kachung* *Kachung*

The clanging wheels of the cart were heard as the man parted ways from the girls.

——-

Upon returning home, Kozue began to wash her new fishbowl.

“What are you gonna do now that you bought that thing?”, pressed Michie in disbelief.

“What do you mean?” asked Kozue, still washing the bowl.

“We don’t even have a goldfish!”, asserted Michie.

“Not like we need one anyways, right?”, replied Kozue.

“Huh?”

“Heheheh”, Laughed Kozue, as Michie stood puzzled, pondering the hidden meaning behind her sister’s reaction.

“What are you talking about…”, pouted Michie, somewhat irked by her sister’s laughter.

“Huh?” Michie noticed a piece of paper set on the table beside her.

“Sis, what is this?”, she asked with the paper in her hand.

“Oh, it came with the bowl. No need to worry about that”, said Kozue as she finished washing the bowl and proceeded to dry it thoroughly.

“There we go”, she said as she wiped her hands dry and headed to her room with the multicolored sphere in her hands.

“This is how you use it”, she said as she filled the bowl with water once again.

The water made a splashing sound as she set it down, separating the tips of her fingers from the bowl. A glistening light began to radiate from the bottom of the glass.

“Alright, that should be good”, said Kozue.

“Wow…” mused Michie as she stared, captivated at her sister who was looking down at the bowl with a gaze of satisfaction.

“I was totally looking for a goldfish bowl that would complement the aesthetic of my room”, proclaimed Kozue.

“So, we can’t put a goldfish in?”, asked Michie.

“Nope, any living thing would die instantly, and it would muck up the water anyways”, replied Kozue.

“Huh”.

“You use it just like this, as decoration”, said Kozue.

“Yea but it just seems like such a waste that we can’t put a goldfish in it, since it’s a goldfish bowl and all…” said Michie.

“That’s fine with me”, declared Kozue, in response to her sister’s reluctant attitude.

“Alright, now where to put this thing…”, thought Kozue aloud as she headed towards her room.

“Hmmm”, Michie mumbled as she was left behind to stare in fascination at the bowl.

Just as she reached her hand out to the bowl, moving closer to the opening at the top, a sound echoed from it.

*SHOOM*

A pale blue light suddenly resonated from the fishbowl, and Michie’s hand was pulled in with great force through the opening.

“Huh? AAAAAAAAAH!!”

Hearing Michie’s sudden scream she ran back into the room.

“What happened, Michi- What the hell?!”, she yelled as she saw the image of her sister reflected in the bowl, “M-Michie!”.

“Kozue, help me!”, yelled the tiny Michie as her sister ran to the place where she once stood a moment ago.

“Where are you Michie?!” cried Kozue.

“Right here!”, yelled Michie back as her sister fumbled around looking for where the voice was coming from,“I said I’m right here!”.

The sound of water reverberated from the bowl, and Michie yelled again, “Right here!”.

“What? Inside the fishbowl?”, Asked Kozue.

Upon taking another glance, Kozue saw it. There she was. Her sister, who was now no more than 5 centimeters tall, struggling to tread water inside the the glass bowl.

“Michie!”

While Kozue was relieved she had found her sister, she stared in complete awe at the fact that she was now shrunken inside the fishbowl.

“H-How?” she asked.

“I have no idea! Quit staring and help me out!”, yelled Michie at her now gigantic sister.

“Y-yea, I’ll help you out right now”, said Kozue, extending her hand out to her sister floating inside the bowl.

At that moment…

*SHOOM*

The bowl once again glowed pale blue, and Kozue was sucked into the bowl by her hand.

“Wha- AHHHH!!!”.

Kozue was sucked into the bowl just as her sister was moments ago.

“NOOO!!!”, she screamed as she fell in the water, making a huge splash.

“Kozue you idiot!!! Why did you put your hand in like I did!”, shouted Michie.

“How was I supposed to know!” Kozue yelled back, refusing to lose the argument “I did it because you were calling out for me!”.

“What, you’re gonna make it my fault now?”, hissed Michie in response, grappling with Kozue within the bowl.

Just as the sisterly fight was starting, Michie made a realization.

“You know, right now really isn’t the time for this”, said Michie, still holding on to her sister.

“Y-yea, you’re right”, replied Kozue, nodding her head in agreement.

“Hey, is anyone there? Please help us!” cried Kozue, yelling through the opening of the fishbowl.

“Uh…Kozue…Mom and dad won’t be back for another 2 days” Michie calmly pointed out.

“What? What are we going to do then?” replied Kozue.

“I don’t know. My phone is useless now that it’s soaked in the water. This is not good.” replied Michie.

Having heard this, Kozue looked toward Michie with an expression of worry on her face, realizing that neither of them had any means of escaping the bowl.

Suddenly, as she looked up at the mouth of the bowl, a green light whizzed by.

*shoom*

“Ah…!” Chie reacted as her legs instantly went numb.

“What’s wrong, Michie”, asked Kozue, noticing Michie’s reaction.

“M-my body…n-numb…”, Michie stuttered to Kozue as she struggled to control her body.

*Ploop*

Michie began to sink below the surface of the water.

“M-Michie!” Yelled a panicked Kozue as she desperately tried to pull Michie up.

“A…a..ahhhh…m-my body…w-weird…”, Michie pleaded to her sister, eyes wide open as her body began to stiffen up.

“Weird? What’s weird?!”, Kozue asked, observing her sister’s odd movements.

*Creak*

“No way! Michie!”, yelled Kozue as she watched her sister feet stretch into a vermillion green tailfin and began to merge together as one unit.

“Michie! W-How-”, Kozue yelled, at a loss for words as Michie’s legs continued to transform.

However, Michie seemed to be in a state of intense concentration.

“U-Uuuuungh”, she groaned gritting her teeth as she endured the transformation.

Michie’s legs continued to merge together, making ominous creaking and cracking sounds along the way. Her legs gradually became one streamlined unit, covered in scales. At the end of her tail, a fin slowly opened out like a leaf growing out of a branch.

“A-A fish?”, Kozue said in astonishment as she stared at her sister’s fishtail swaying gently from side to side.

With a sploosh, Michie slowly let go of Kozue’s hand and sank below the surface of the water.

“Michie…I can’t believe it…you’re part fish…”, Kozue murmured as she stared at her sister’s changes.

Michie’s upper half was still human. However, her legs had completely turned into that of a fish’s.

Suddenly, Kozue felt the same changes that had just attacked her sister begin to creep up on her.

“No!!!! I don’t wanna be a fish!!”, she screamed, banging on the walls of the glass bowl.

Scales suddenly began to spread across Kozue’s legs as they began to merge together.

“No!!!! Somebody help me!!!!”

As Kozue felt the changes within her body she continued banging on the wall, causing the bowl to sway back and forth.

*Clunk*

Kozue continued to bang on the glass, beat by beat, completely absorbed in the rhythm in which the bowl began to sway.

*Crack* *Crack*

Kozue’s lower half had already merged into a mermaid tail, and a long fin was sprouting out at the end.

“Help me! Help me! Help me!”, Kozue screamed, banging on the inside of the bowl with all the strength she could muster.

*clunk*

The fishbowl began to spin around the table in a circular motion, and eventually dropped off the edge.

The instant it hit the floor, the sound of shattering glass resonated throughout the room.

Michie and Kozue were flung into the air in one sweeping motion as their tailfins glistened with brilliant reflection. They both hit the ground with a thud.

“Ow…”, moaned Kozue as she sat up.

*Squish* *Squash*

Under the table laid the shattered remains of the fishbowl.

“Haha…I-I did it…I escaped from the mermaid bowl…ahahaha…”, mumbled Kozue as she stared under the table, relieved at the fact that she was able to escape and return to her normal size.

However…

From the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of her vermillion green tail making a squishing sound as it slapped against the ground.

“Ahhhh!!!!”, she screamed, her face turning completely pale.

“Wha…Why? I got out of the fishbowl, so why am I still a mermaid? ”, she said to herself, absolutely dumbfounded.

Just then, a piece of paper gently fluttered through the air, slowly falling before Kozue’s eyes.

“What’s this?” Kozue said, grabbing the paper from the air, glossing her eyes through its contents. “What?! No!!!”.

Kozue’s scream echoed throughout the room.

“…Thank you for purchasing the Mermaid Bowl. This product is designed to give anyone a taste of what it’s like to be a fairy of the ocean: a mermaid. By filling the bowl with the proper amount of water and stretching your hands out above, you will be sucked into the bowl and become a mermaid for one hour. Upon first use, you may feel a slight numbness in your legs during transformation, however, this effect weakens the more the bowl is used.

Now, give it a shot and learn what it’s like to be a mermaid princess yourself!

Warning: If bowl is broken during transformation, user may not be able to change back to their original state.”

“W-WHAT?!”, Kozue screamed, her face turning bright red as she continued to read the instructions.

“Huh, so that’s how it works. Sis, what do we do?”, asked Michie, as her tailfin slapped against the floor.

The End.
